The aim of the present work is to reflect upon the challenges that the public institutions still face as regards the training policies and /or formation for employment from a gender perspective. To begin with, there will be a short description of the analytical frame from where we start in order to understand the public policies and the gender subject matter. Secondly, some aspects concerning women's situation in the labour market in recent years and their connection with the social and family circles. will be mentioned. Thirdly, there will be a description of the main difficulties women have to encounter with their integration in the labour market, emphasizing the aspects concerning grades and training. Finally, it will be mentioned if there has been any answers from the State or not to promote gender equality in terms of public policies of formation and/or training for employment, refecting upon the subject matter.
