Resumen

GARNERO, Gabriel. La dialéctica sociedad/cuenca hidrográfica en el valle de traslasierra: Las aguas del río Mina Clavero, Córdoba 1870-1935. Rev. Pilquen. secc. cienc. soc. [online]. 2014, vol.17, n.2, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-3123.

Rivers contain a tiny portion of the total water on earth; however, along with lakes, streams and springs they have been the main sources of freshwater supply along history. In this regard, the main contribution of environmental historians lies in two issues. In first place, explaining the diversity of ways of relating to water sources and secondly, how this link was transformed over time. Following this guideline, in this paper we analyze the case of Mina Clavero river basin and its relationship with the eponymous town that emerged in its margins. To do this, we show the significance that took the existence of the stream and its watershed for the emergence of the community and how the economic, political and social activities were associated with the river. In turn, we study how these developments led to anthropogenic interventions that significantly affected the referred basin. Our sources of information have been multiple, heterogeneous but complementary, from municipal and provincial administrative documentation to literary production.
