Abstract

RUFFINI, Martha. The return of Peronism to power: Memory and politics in northern Patagonia (1973-1976). Rev. Pilquen. secc. cienc. soc. [online]. 2017, vol.20, n.4, pp.96-109. ISSN 1851-3123.

In Argentina access to the Historic Third Peronism (1973-1976) meant the end of the Prohibition Party and leader Juan Domingo Peron. This created a true "Peronist spring", which translated upward social mobilization role of youth, armed groups and violent confrontation between Peronist party factions. The North Patagonia politically formed a unique space. In Río Negro, Governor Mario Franco tried to maintain governance and reconfigure the historical memory by inserting the justicialism as the dominant force, creating a pantheon in which the heroes and dates of Peronism were included.

Keywords : Peronism; Memory; Patagonia; Violence.
