The present work analyses the social exclusion category for the case of family farm in La Plata. From presenting particularities of social exclusion for the comprehension of various social phenomena, a research was made to the problems of family farmers to analyze how it is linked to the exclusion approach. As a result, a scheme of social exclusion is proposed which includes variables that allows the comprehension, in a multidimensional and dynamic way, the accumulation of disadvantages in a negative way in the family agriculture. The study points out the postulated variables and grants resources to recognize the contributions of the exclusion approach in the situation of family farm.
