The purpose of this paper is to map out the profile of scholarly-scientific research on organizational learning and memory. Additionally, this paper examines the studies conducted in public organizations. Based on bibliometric analysis, 73 articles were retrieved from 52 journals indexed at web of science database, published until 2013. Were identified the ten journals with more publications in the area and the ten high-impact journals. Furthermore, the analysis identified three groups of articles: (i) most cited papers, (ii) recent papers, and (iii) papers/studies in public organizations. The results indicate that several studies have suggested the proximity between processes of organizational learning and memory, but these relationships have been little explored in sector public.
