Abstract This paper belongs to a larger project about a connective and comparative study between two nations: Spain and Argentina, starting from the late 50 and early '60s, when a new cycle begins in the francoist economic model, different from the model in use up to the middle of the Second World War. The new model, which by 1973/74 will enter a plateau, tried to set a different way in front to democratic policies consolidated in Western Europe after the War and was attractive for some leading sectors in Latin America.
