China today has such a global relevance that virtually no single economy is immune to the consequences of their decisions, especially those linked directly with the rest of the world through: trade, investments and even decisions about their foreign exchange reserves, which could impact on the world interest rate. This paper reviews the evolution of one of these channels, the trade, while the content of Chinese sales has changed to the extent that the country was becoming a protagonist in the regional, multilateral and bilateral levels. The internal process that determined its current profile is synthetically reviewed, and also we explore its potential implications for Latin America
