GARCIA-HERNANDEZ, JL et al. Efecto de azaridachtina y Myrothecium verrucaria en la calidad de germinación de ají (Capsicum annuum L. cv. Ancho San Luis): (con 5 tablas). Phyton (B. Aires) [online]. 2004, vol.73, pp.1-7. ISSN 1851-5657.

Before sowing, hot pepper seeds are usually treated with agricultural chemicals to avoid damage by pests. This practice has been accepted and used to improve germination and plant development in commercial plots. However, in recent years, it has been observed that some chemicals can cause negative effects in treated plants. Thus, it is necessary to evaluate alternative products because, given its nature, they can be less toxic for plants, but at the same time, they are active in pest inhibition or control. An experiment was made to determine the effect of two organic products on the germination quality of hot pepper (Capsicum annuum L. cv. Ancho San Luis). These products are: 1) DHC NEEEM®, of which the content is extracted from neem (Azaridachta indica), and 2) Di Tera®, which is formulated with suspended solids extracted from the fungui Myrothecium verrucaria. Both products are commercially used in Mexico to control several pests. Among the outstanding results, was that DHC NEEEM affected to a higher degree the production of matter. Therefore DHC NEEEM is not recommended for use in seed management. On the other hand, dry matter did not suffer damages in relation to the products themselves or doses their.
