SALAZAR-SALAZAR, Ovidio  e  RODRIGUEZ-ALCAZAR, Jorge. Cambios bioquímicos inducidos por etilenglicol, etanol y acido acetilsalicilico en plantas de naranjo (Citrus sinensis (L) Osbeck), bajo condicionesde temperatura controlada: (con 4 figuras). Phyton (B. Aires) [online]. 2004, vol.73, pp.249-257. ISSN 1851-5657.

The biochemical effect of etyleneglicol (ETG 1 and 2M), methanol (MET 10 and 20%) and acetylsalicylic acid (ASA 10-3 y 10-2 M) was evaluated on two year old ‘Navelina' orange trees, after 12/12 hours chamber/external temperatures: 15 ºC/26 ºC; 10 ºC/26 ºC; 5ºC/26 ºC and 5ºC/26 ºC. Between each chamber/natural temperature levels, adult leaves were sampled from tree middle section and fatty acid, carbohydrates, protein and chlorophyll content were determined. The saturated and unsaturated fatty acid content was differentialy affected by chemical applications at evaluated temperatures. The total sugars decreased by ETG and increased about 52.7% at 10 ºC by ASA 10-3 M y MET 10%. At -5 ºC, total sugar were increased about 165 and 244% by MET 10% and MET 20% respectively and the reducing sugars about 84% by MET 20%. The protein content was increased 45% at 5 ºC by MET 10%. The content of pigments was not affected.

Palavras-chave : Citrus; fatty acid; carbohydrates; protein; chlorophyll; freezing stress.
