This article addresses the topic of drop-out rates in Natural Science School at University and aims at developing a study to describe the academic status of students. The general objective of this study is to evaluate Students’ Academic Performance in General Chemistry in Bachelor´s degree and Teacher Training in Biological Sciences during 2010-2015 in the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Miguel Lillo Institute at the National University of Tucuman. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to provide information for further studies or analysis related with dropout in the first year. Therefore, Bachelor and Teacher Training careers were compared, regarding the academic status, by analyzing the percentage of students who enroll but do not attend classes, students who fail (free students), students who drop the subject and students who regularize it. In consequence, The chair of General Chemistry introduced several changes during this period in order to increase the number of students who achieve the condition of regular.
