The aim of this publication is to show the efficacy of the use of clinical interviews to carry out diagnosis evaluation in a Portuguese Class. The exploratory research was conducted during the year 2016 in the subject Portuguese I, which is part of the curriculum of the Executive University Secretariat Career, in Puerto Iguazu, at the Faculty of Economic Sciences from Misiones National University; and was held during the second quarter of the year. The implementation of this metacognitive tool allowed the teaching team to obtain powerful information to frame the teaching proposal, to set assessment criteria for the learning achieved and to establish the existence of alternative conceptions for the purpose of reversing them.
