The aim of this article, part from a study financed by the University of Buenos Aires (UBACyT), is to know the inequalities in the perception of morbidity and health care in the population from Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires and to relate them to demographic, social, cultural and economic dimensions in the adult population (25 years old and more) by using secondary data of the Survey of Use and Cost in Services of Health of the Ministry of Health (2003). The most important questions analyzed concerns to the passed time of the last consultation, the reasons for consultation, the suffering of chronic diseases and the self-perception of health state. A trivaried analysis by sex considering age, educational level, health insurance and family income was used. The results show that structurally the inequality refers the existing differences in the access to the resources in relation to the people life conditions. Age and sex, besides mark biological differences in the determination of health problems constitute social, cultural, political and economic mediators in the differentiated experiences between individuals from a same social context.
