Abstract

VEGA, Andrea L; TORCIDA, Sebastián  and  VELAZQUEZ, Guillermo A. Analysis of the Evolution of Infant Mortality Rate Values in Argentinean Departments: 1994-2003. Salud colectiva [online]. 2006, vol.2, n.3, pp.237-247. ISSN 1669-2381.

Description of the behavior of Infant Mortality Rate values in a specific period is a complex task, often requiring both geographical and mathematical knowledge. In this work, a statistical method based on a robust linear fit of Infant Mortality Rate values in Argentinean departments between 1994 and 2003 is used to depict both the trend and the speed of changes. The utility of this tool and some of the revealed situations are discussed.

Keywords : Infant Mortality; Time Series Studies; Risk Map; Statistical Analysis; Risk Adjustment.
