RODRIGUEZ GARCES, Carlos y CASTILLO RIQUELME, Víctor. Employability, incomes and gaps: a comparative analysis of the processes of the employment in Chile. Orientac. soc. [online]. 2014, vol.14, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-8893.
The overcrowding in higher education involves a reconfiguration of the education system and the national labor market. This article describes, analyzes and compares the relative position or ranking of the different careers in Chile over a set of laboral indices, indicators that seek to relate the employment of a group of graduates as a result of diversified and deregulated educational processes. They report high rates of graduates and differential levels of incomes and employment. The top-level professional education, however protect against unemployment, evidences income gaps and differential valuations of career paths from the labor market, making the choice of what to study and where to study is not a trivial decision
