NORAMBUENA CARRASCO, Carmen. Latin American nations' imaginary in the transition from the XIX to the XX century. Estud. filos. práct. hist. ideas [online]. 2007, n.9, pp. 117-128. ISSN 1851-9490.
This work is a reflection about the construction of imaginaries that took form along the XIX century in the South American countries: Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil. These countries intended to install a modern and attractive appearance consistent with the so-called "civilized world." We try to establish an understandable frame for posing again different issues of our common history; in this case, the creation of an imaginary of prosperous countries, so powerful as to hide other possible imaginaries.
