Abstract

Through a critical review of administrative documentation, censuses, historiographies and ethnographic monographs, the general objective of this article is to investigate and to analyze comparatively the epistemologicals and juridical - administrative conditions and parameters through which the interculturality has been recognized and conceptualized at national / provincial level according to critical historicals moments: the one that marked the process of modernization of the "Nation", where Mendoza`s identity  and historical production, they were defined by opposition and exclusion from local indigenous tradition cultural; and the one that was marked by 1994 constitutional reformation, in which cultural filiation is annexed to the systems of social classification and of gobernability. We aim to make categories, interests and knowledge that guide the intercultural policies explicit, recovering them as constitutive components of a historical process.
