Abstract

ARPINI, Adriana María. "Culture of Domination" and "Dialectics of Emergency" in Augusto Salazar Bondy’s Writings. Estud. filos. práct. hist. ideas [online]. 2014, vol.16, n.1, pp.23-31. ISSN 1851-9490.

We turn back on the salazarian thesis according to which the Peruvian and Latin-American culture can be characterized as "culture of domination", for the purpose of positioning it in relation with developments, which the same author carries out in texts after the publication of the controversial book entitled ¿Existe una filosofía de nuestra América? (1968). Developments across which it will be possible to clear the question for the social function of philosophy, to closely follow his characterization of the "culture of domination" and to understand the dichotomous categories "domination/liberation" in the context of a peculiar dialectic tension. All these elements converge on his formulation of an emerging humanism.

Keywords : Culture of domination; Domination/liberation; Alienation; Culture of the emergency.
