This text aims to rescue two of the fundamental ideas that Gerardo Aboy Carlés gets in one of his last works to analyze the performance of the Unión Cívica Radical under the leadership of Hipólito Yrigoyen, and moving this way of reading behavior of the party to a subnational politics as if it is the province of Río Negro, where UCR ruled for nearly thirty years. For the sub-analysis we will use some of the expressions that Graciela Iuorno holding in one of his writings. Finally, we intend to track what the relation of some of the characteristics that define the UCR since its inception, and we hold are replicated in the North Patagonian province, with the phenomenon of populism.
