Abstract

RAMALLO, Francisco. Decolonial pedagogíes in History Didactics. Estud. filos. práct. hist. ideas [online]. 2017, vol.19, n.1, pp.55-64. ISSN 1851-9490.

In this article we intend to have the emerging field of reflection on decolonial pedagogies and History Didactics converge, by emphasizing a number of considerations which concern the teaching and learning of History as a school subject.  We thus aim at understanding the role of this social science in creating narratives that support and imagine "other possible worlds" as a means to denaturalize the painful, still prevailing coloniality. In order to achieve this we delve into our own teaching practice of the History of Africa and African descendants as a way to think, feel and bet on decolonial pedagogies from the perspective of our daily experience (and inside the education system).

Keywords : Decolonial pedagogies; History Didactics; Coloniality; Africa; Curricular Designs.
