This paper aims to investigate the role played by García Morente in his second trip to Argentina and the construction of the canon displayed in his Preliminary Philosophy Lessons, material that brings together the classes given at the National University of Tucumán in 1937. From this source, we will try an analysis that takes into account, on the one hand, the trajectory of the Spanish professor -from an intellectual history perspective- and, on the other hand, the analysis of his philosophical discourse -from a history of ideas approach- . Both dimensions are key to addressing the constitution of philosophical studies in the province.
