Abstract
ROMAN, Roberto. Centros clandestinos de detención: Algunas reflexiones sobre cómo abordar su estudio: el caso de Rosario, 1976-1983. Prohistoria [online]. 2007, vol.11, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-9504.
This article studies, though briefly, clandestine detention centers modus operandi in Rosario during the last military dictatorship. The military leadership made it possible for the subordinate commando groups to act and take initiatives without restraints all over the national territory, in order that physical elimination of its political opponents could be achieved. Clandestine detention centers were a key tool for this goal to be met. The multiplicity, secrecy and distribution of such centers, altogether, guaranteed the necessary handling of information that was to be lethally used against the enemies of the regime. Though sharing common patterns with the rest of the Country, the city of Rosario had characteristics of its own. For the most part, this paper is based on the testimony of the survivors of these clandestine centers who offer their own pecu- liar vision of their detention experience.
