Abstract

After the defeat in the fields of Sipe- Sipe, the Auxiliary Army of Perú moved to the San Miguel of Tucumán city were it was stationed most of the time between 1816 and 1819. The permanence of the army in this city coincided with a series of political and militar conflicts in La Rioja, Córdoba, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero and Catamarca in wich took and active part. We will tray to demonstrate how the Auxiliary Army of Perú was crucial to ensure the subordination of this territories to the central power and how his actions were important in the maintaining of the governance inside of the Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata, using the documentation that exist in the Archivo General de la Nación
