In this article we seek to uncover the particularities of the border Pasaje Balbuena during a period with it own entity within the colonial history of the Gobernación del Tucumán (1707-1767), characterized by the deployment of offensive war and the Jesuits' action. By focusing attention on the nuclei of this multiple border: fuertes, reducciones, and haciendas, we will observe the particular development of this area until it was consolidated as a thriving pastoral front, changed its name to Frontera del Rosario, and joined the jurisdiction of Salta as Partido del Rosario
