This work explores the creation of the Institute for Historical Studies in Tucumán (IEHT) and their role in the process of professionalization of history that occurred in Argentina during the first decades of the twentieth century We will analyze the links established between the IEHT to other institutions dedicated to the study and research of the history in the country. This research raises the existence of historians and a specialized public - at least in the north of the country-, which would have fostered the establishment of the Institute and allows us to think of an extensive network of people with a historical vocation that explicit would have exceeded the metropolitan area
