Abstract

VIDAL, Gardenia. Associationism, Catholicism and Gender: Cordoba in the Late Nineteenth Century and Early Twentieth Century. Prohistoria [online]. 2013, vol.20, pp.45-66. ISSN 1851-9504.

This article deals with three catholic associations of Córdoba, Argentina, during the end of Nineteenth Century and the first decades of the Twentieth. These associations are constituted by men and women. My main goal is to examine the role developed by these women in the public space using principally Mary Nash's "social citizenship" category. On the other hand, during the research another idea appears such as "restricted political citizenship" even before 1912

Keywords : Women; Catholicism; Associations; Social citizenship; Public space.
