Abstract

The paper proposes a reading of the Rosario's representations in the Buenos Aires press in the early twentieth century through Caras y Caretas, the first popular national magazine. The hypothesis is that, through photographs, stories, anecdotes and descriptions, magazine proposes a "textual Rosario" through which emphasized the particularity of the city as part of the national landscape diversity, and, in turn, raised tensions in the constitution of its own identity
