This article analyzes the democratic reconstruction in Argentina, especially in Buenos Aires province, focusing in the perspective of the Union Civica Radical, between the electoral victory of 1983 and the defeat of 1987. It attributes this displacement to the adverse social-economic and to some party issues. It argues that the way to resolve the internal difficulties slowed the partisan leaders circulation and hindered the development of attractive projects which, together with external factors, alienated the preference of the majority of citizens
