Abstract

BUSTAMANTE VISMARA, José  and  SCHOO, Susana. States and Education through a Student Riot: Concepción del Uruguay, 1864. Prohistoria [online]. 2015, vol.24, pp.101-122. ISSN 1851-9504.

A riot of students against their rector occurred at the College of Concepción del Uruguay in 1864 is taken as focus to study the organization of national schools in Argentina in the nineteenth century. In addition to allude to historiographical issues and the context in which the institution is located, describing the tumult seeks to address the ways in which the national state, the provincial government and the educational community articulated in building institutions
