The article analyses Herbert Marcuse's intellectual trajectory, focusing on its refreshing nature for Marxist philosophy and his ability to interpret many changes of modern societies since the 1960s. The article especially mentions the main contributions of his critical theory of society, and the relevance of many aspects of his unfairly forgotten work.
