Abstract
PEREZ, Alberto; SMITH, Marina and GRILLO, Elizabeth. Implicancias tafonómicas de las composición faunística en la localidad arqueológica Meliquina, Parque Nacional Lanín, provincia de Neuquén, Argentina. Runa [online]. 2008, vol.29, pp.69-86. ISSN 1851-9628.
This paper presents a synthesis of the current knowledge status of taphonomic characteristics from patagonic forest environments, with the aim to understand the bias over skeletal representation of the faunal assemblages recovered in our studies in the archaeological locality Meliquina, National Park Lanín, province of Neuquén. In agreement with the postulate that support that patagonic forest is not a homogenous environment, it can be observed a great heterogeneity as far as biostratinomic and fossildiagenetic factors that affect the faunistic representation in different areas from this environment. In spite of the differential survival between assemblages under rock repair and open air sites, they all offered information of presence and importance of forest resources in diet.
