The article reflects on the social representations that young Senegalese who arrived in Argentina over the last two decades construct regarding their migration. I understand social representations as a particular type of knowledge that influences individual’s behavior and communication. On this basis, I reflect on the expectations and perspectives of the protagonists on various social, cultural, economic, historical and family conditions that have influenced their migration projects in numerous ways.
