Abstract

RABELLO DE CASTRO, Lucia  and  PIMENTEL TUMOLO, Paula. The experience of transmission in Brazilian state schools: the reinvention of social ties between child and adults. Runa [online]. 2019, vol.40, n.2, pp.39-55.  Epub Dec 19, 2019. ISSN 1851-9628.  http://dx.doi.org/10.34096/runa.v40i2.7111.

In this paper we analyse how, in a school context with many adversities, partnerships and pacts between teachers and students are constructed in order to respond to the institutional objectives of the school. We interrogate what kind of engagements are possible for a teacher and a group of students in order for them to change the conditions of apathy and inertia of the school routine which lets down their expectations and leads them to an adapt to a situation which seems hopeless. We propose to think about the mediation of transmission as a dispositif to reinvent social ties between teachers and pupils. This study seeks to analyse these questions in the microcosm of the classroom of a state school in Rio de Janeiro after a period of immersion in the school which allowed a research intervention in a syllabus course in a sort of collaborative activity between teacher, researchers and students.
