This article addresses and analyzes the results of three socio-anthropological investigations that have as a common characteristic the fact of recovering actors that are not the most usual or consecrated within security studies: we refer to the security activist neighbors, the relatives of detainees and young activists against institutional violence. They share a relative invisibility: on the one hand, in the academic field; on the other, within the spheres in which they operate, since they do not have institutional accreditation, and are in the process of social production of their name. Throughout the article, the theoretical and methodological implications of inquiring about actors under construction are analyzed; as well as the implications of carrying out field work with those who develop a particular type of activism with which, among other issues, they seek to achieve visibility and relevance in their spheres of action.
