VON LURZER, Carolina Justo. Sex, love and money: Socio-sexual imaginary in television representations of prostitution in Argentina. Apunt. investig. CECYP [online]. 2013, vol.23, n.1. ISSN 1851-9814.

In this article we propose to explore the socio-sexual imaginarles depicted in a number of TV representations of prostitution in Argentina. These imaginaries pass judgement on the subjects, their relationships and the practices that operate as mechanisms of social intelligibility and modelling. To this end, we will characterize three of the prevailing thematic axes that structure the genre positions and sexual roles attributed to women in these representations. In the mediatization of prostitution, the links among sex, money and love give rise to a moral pedagogy that exceeds the contours of the activity itself.

Keywords : sexualities; gender; television; representations.
