Abstract

LIDA, Miranda. An alluvial national language for Argentina: Jorge Luis Borges, Américo Castro and Amado Alonso on "argentine" language debate. Prismas [online]. 2012, vol.16, n.1, pp.99-119. ISSN 1852-0499.

This article focuses on the debates about the idea of national language of Argentina, during the foundation of the Instituto de Filología (Buenos Aires University) since the twenties. It also studies the social and cultural context on which those debates aroused. Lastly, it describes the way the peronism had impact on the Instituto de Filología, the University at large and the idea about the national langue.
