Resumen

DI BIASE, Ayelen Rocío Soledad. GUARANÍES IN JOSÉ C. PAZ: AN APROACH TO THE PROBLEMATICS OF AN ETHNIC COMMUNITY IN THE BUENOS AIRES SUB-URBAN AREA. Relaciones [online]. 2016, vol.41, n.2, pp.1-10. ISSN 0325-2221.

In the last decades, cities and their peripheries have been the scenery of indigenous communities' organization and settlements. “Kuarahy Öse Enteroitepeguara”, which is located in José C. Paz city in the north-west zone of the Argentine Buenos Aires sub-urban area, has been the target of our research. The community is formed by forty families which come from different places. They arrived at the neighborhood and started a Guaraní ethnic self-identification process in order to establish a community and present their project to organizations like the National Institute of Indigenous Affairs (INAI), between 2012 and 2013. The main objective of this research is to approach the migration process and their fnal settlement in the neighborhood. In turn, the organization, the relationship between the “urban” and the “rural”, and the political and institutional context in which the community is involved at present will be investigated.

Palabras clave : indigenous communities – ethnic self-identification – migration process – sub-urban area – demands.
