An integration ofarchaeological data related to hunter-gatherers ofthe Early Late Holocene in the central mountains of Argentina is develop, with the purpose of analysing social processes and new configuration of cultural landscapes. This information, the product of different research carried out in a discontinuous way during decades, and intensified in the last years, covers diverse types of contexts and materials. Among them are stratified deposits in caves and rock shelters, open-air base camps, panels with rock art, burials, and personal ornaments. Thus, the Early Late Holocene (c. 4200-2000 years BP) is defined as a time of change and innovation for the local hunter-gatherers. This meant new ways of building community ties, demarcating landscapes, participating in long-distance exchange networks, treatment the remains of the deceased, and producing emerging social positions.
