Abstract

BUGLIANI, María Fabiana. EVIDENCES OF THE LATE PERIODIN CAJON VALLEY (CATAMARCA). A LOOKFROMLOMA L'ÁNTIGO. Relaciones [online]. 2018, vol.43, n.1, pp.1-8. ISSN 0325-2221.

This article presents the results of archaeological investigations carried out at the site Loma l'Ántigo which was occupied between the 13th and 15th centuries a.D. Loma l'Ántigo is an agglomerated residential village located on the top of a hill. Recent systematic excavations have shown a significant number of artifacts from different raw materials. The excavations also allowed a visualization the constructive modes and architectural features that shape the village. The characteristics of the occupation floors and other traits such as foundations, post-holes, hearths and carvedpits on the floor have been shown. Excavations also recovered different objects that are part of the daily use and identified the ceramic styles consumed in different contexts. Although it is possible to recognize the presence and use of styles of the “valliserranos” sectors at that time, peculiar characteristics are highlighted that are discussed and put into consideration.

Keywords : Loma l'Ántigo - village - architecture - Late Period.
