ZUBIMENDI, Miguel Ángel. CAMBIOS Y CONTINUIDADES A LO LARGO DEL HOLOCENO EN EL USO HUMANO DE LA LOCALIDAD ARQUEOLÓGICA PUNTA MEDANOSA (PATAGONIA ARGENTINA). Relaciones [online]. 2019, vol.44, n.1, pp.1-10. ISSN 0325-2221.
Punta Medanosa archaeological locality is located on the north coast of Santa Cruz Province (Argentine Patagonia). The antecedents allow us to state that it was used by hunter-gatherer populations throughout, at least, 6000 years. The archaeological record is manifested through an important and varied archaeological richness. Due to the fact that it is mostly an accretion beach, the spaces available in this locality changed significantly during the Holocene. In this work we present the results obtained from geoarchaeological studies on this locality and explore the relationship between the geomorphological changes that occurred, the variability in the availability of territories and the archaeological record. We also propose a model of space use considering changes and continuities in the distribution, quantity and types of sites in Punta Medanosa, which we believe refect the use by human populations during the Holocene.
