Resumen

VERAMENDI PONT, María Mónica. Auge y declinación: trayectoria electoral del bloquismo y cruzada renovadora en veinte años de democracia. Estud. - Cent. Estud. Av., Univ. Nac. Córdoba [online]. 2009, n.22, pp.209-230. ISSN 1852-1568.

The provincial political parties were born in peculiar local circumstances. Some of them, such as Bloquismo and Cruzada Renovadora, constitute splinters off a larger Argentinean National party: the Radical Party. The common basis of these political forces is the defense of federalism and the respect for local autonomies. Their mission in Congress has originally been to give a say and grant relevance to provincial interests without neglecting the national interests, and to implement the agreed upon federalism. The objective of this article is to describe and synthesize qualitative and quantitative changes in the electoral development course of the political groups in San Juan from 1983 to 2003. Their presence helps to fortify pluralism and the consolidation of the democratic system. Then, the knowledge of the recent electoral dynamics of these political parties helps to recognize important analytic elements concerning their present situation and to obtain priceless information related to the future of these political groups within a local party system with a marked trend to be dominated by an only force: Justicialismo (Justicialism).
