Abstract In this paper, the changes and continuity in the Argentinian Political Party System will be considered from the reestablishment of the democracy (1983) to date, although the core of the analysis will be the 2001-2011 period. The focus will be specially in the study of the dynamics, general trends, and main actors of the party system before the 2001 collapse, in order to compare them with the process which has been taking place throughout the following decade, pointing out those things that, to our understanding, constitute the main changes and continuities.
