In recent years, magazines have become privileged sources to study intellectual life and the debates of an era. In this perspective Punto de Vista (1978-2008), Unidos (1983-1991) and La Ciudad Futura (1986-2003) played an important role in building a common language on democracy, politics and intellectuals in Argentina during the eighties. In these magazines one can find the tracks of the political and ideological transition of a significant segment of left intellectuals in the construction of new political identities. In this article we propose to explore the political and intellectual operations that allowed the transit of leftist peronist and socialist intellectuals to new identities. In other words, how a dialogue field was constructed during the eighties and materialized in the nineties in new political forces like the Frente Grande and Frepaso. We believe these magazines and their intellectuals constructed an ideological path that, though ephemeral, persists in pluralist democracy.
