In this paper we will show the theoretical-methodological transformations that have crossed the field of study called «Social history of health and sickness». In this sense, we analyze a growing field of research, addressing the articulation of several approaches related to the process of health-sickness-care. The article develops three themes. Firstly, we put into perspective the knowledge paths developed in Europe and United States. Secondly, we address the history of health and sickness in Latin America and also its international influences and current developments. Last, we approach the Argentine academic agenda as well as the one encourages by the local research centers.
