The article aims to review different events of social protest and their interpretations in the press (newspapers Clarín and La Nación) during the first stage of the government of Néstor Kirchner (May 25, 2003 to December 2004). The main aim of this article is to investigate the various representations and ideological debates intrinsic to the interpretation of social protest at this stage, and locate the fundamental elements of what we consider "criminalization of protest" post-2001 crisis
