During the second half of the '90s a series of popular revolts marked the beginning of the crisis of neoliberal hegemony, in force in Argentina since the beginning of the decade. Between them, those that occurred in Tartagal and Mosconi, Salta province, attracted attention for its radicalism and its repetition. In this paper I meditate about their conditions of possibility taking notice to the different representations in these communities about those events. For that, after reviewing the local traditions of struggle, I analyze the discourses of different social and political actors, examining the different meanings attributed to the facts. The study reveals the presence of a community representation marked by a strong local identification which favored interclass solidarity and contributed to the development of popular rebellions
