RUSSO, Juan. Elections and political change in Mexico: new vulnerabilities?. Estud. - Cent. Estud. Av., Univ. Nac. Córdoba [online]. 2021, n.46, pp.33-54. ISSN 1852-1568.
Abstract Political vulnerability is a key indicator of the stability and potential risk of a democracy. Invulnerable governments have weak oppositions as a counterpart. This paper analyzes the vulnerability of the main political parties in Mexico and their impact on competitiveness, which will be tested in the upcoming legislative elections in June 2021. To meet this objective, the recent elections of 2018 are analyzed, in light of the post-94 democratic electoral process and the essential features of said political evolution. Collaterally, attention is paid to current changes in the party system, to participation and to new models of party organizations.
Keywords : elections; political vulnerability; electoral change; democracy.
