The article analyzes the relationship between the Communist and the Socialist parties of Chile, since the Frente Popular government to the Unidad Popular government. It examines the programs and the discussion on the transition to socialism. It examines the 1950s, a period that gave rise to economic, social, and political transformations and changes within the traditional left wing.
