Abstract

GALANTE, Diego. ‘Both Constitution and prudence’: About the triple scale for prosecution of past human rights violations promoted by Alfonsin’s government. Sociohistórica [online]. 2017, n.40, pp.00-00. ISSN 1852-1606.

After 1983, in Argentina, the transitional government had proposed a particular policy to prosecute crimes committed by the dictatorial state between 1976 and 1983. Such policy was based on the statement about three different grades of individual responsibility. This paper reviews the historical and political development of that proposal, and analyzes the different changes introduced between 1983 and 1987. Finally, the author theorizes about the relationship settled between that policy and other political processes considered as core aims during argentinian transition

Keywords : Alfonsin; Transitional justice; Human rights; Individual responsibility; Political discourse.
