This article aims to carry out a sociohistorical and comparative analysis of the corporate action undertaken by the main agricultural business organizations in Argentina and Paraguay during the neoliberal period (1989-1998). An articulation between two dimensions is proposed. A structural dimension, in which the emergence of agribusiness as a productive paradigm, of neoliberalism as an economic model and the constitution of a new hegemonic agrarian subject is reconstructed. A political dimension, whose focus is the examination of the corporate action of business organizations during the period studied and their political link with the State. Since the new hegemonic agrarian subject represented by the entities studied formed part of the bloc in power during the neoliberal period in both countries, corporate action was characterized by its intermittence and fragmentation and, in this sense, the political conflict carried out by the entities It was focused and low intensity.

The sociohistorical perspective and the comparative methodology allow the construction of unique objects, temporalities and categories that arise from the joint investigation of the cases, reaching general conclusions that allow explaining the differences and similarities, contributing to a historical vacancy in the field of science.
