Abstract

Cardiogenic shock is an extreme form of acute heart failure characterized by persistent and progressive fall in blood pressure with adequate ventricular filling pressure, with general and severe decrease of tissue perfusion, beyond the limits necessary to support maintain vital organ function at rest. The complexity of cardiogenic shock as a clinical entity shows the difficulty of these patients and its management in intensive care units. The deployment of resources has to be early and efficient as to establish an early treatment while diagnosing the cause that led to cardiogenic shock
